Who needs a drabble? Lovable Fierce Vampire Pam does, that's who! Consistently rated A+ 100% along side Askars' overbite and Stephen Moyer on a Hello Kitty bike. Bless.

Pam liked shoes.
In her century-or-so of wearing them, they were, basically, a rather good reason for immortality. High ones, low ones - flats with little teeny bows and spiked leather ball-crunchers, there was (and always would be) an occasion for all and varied.
She remembers when Eric turned her, she was in work boots - dirty, mid-heel, eight-button-hole laces, black stockings up past her knee soaking with blood as he'd fed from her femoral artery - work boots that were still in a box at the top of her closet, in such a human display of sentimentality it made even herself a little ill.
Her work boots had changed from Victorian heels to Christian Louboutin, but the excitement that came from acquiring a new pair lingered.
A sign, she supposed, of the humanity she'd left behind - but she let it go, just once, because she loved them oh-so-much.

Second, this is lovely, and in character, and perfect.
