6. Earth To Retail
My Noggin-verse, 25th August 2009

The shop was empty. It was nearing the end of the day, and the Beautiful Retail Manager was trying to pack up the shop without another customer coming through the door, who was bound to mess up her neat table of throws.
"Woe," she thought, her back to the door. "Woe is moi."
"Excuse me, miss?"
BRM jumped, but retained her composure and turned around.
"Can I help - OHMIGOD EARTH TO MEEKUS!"
"Uh. Pardon?"
"No, it's EX-SQUEEZE ME HAVE YOU HEARD OF STYH-LING GEL?"
"I just want to buy this generic homewares item..."
"Earth to Meekus."
"What?"
The BRM tapped her finger on the counter impatiently.
"Earth to Meekus."
Her customer's eyes widened, and, with a second of thought, he reached into his satchel, pulling out a Starbucks card.
"Orange mocha frappachinos?"
The BRM's face broke into a smile and she clapped.
"Yes, Meekus. Orange mocha frappachinos."
