4. Yesterday (Today)

Marshall isn't entirely sure why he rang her. "I'm going to be in LA," he spoke down the phone, his mouth feeling like it was full of cotton wool, "did you want to get a beer?"


He isn't entirely sure how to think when she replies with a surprised "yes", because the yes sounds like someone - something? - he knew five years ago that is now, to him and his present, completely out of place.


His hand itches when he hangs up the phone, and again when she enters the bar. Standard pants, jacket - her hair is down, and the only time he could really remember it like that was when he was holding her, naked, in his arms.


"Dani," he calls, and he catches their reflection in the mirror behind the bar.


"Marshall," she answers, and he's suddenly, entirely sure of, at least, their present.

Definitely have to expand that one, me thinks. If only to delete the crappiness of the above drabble.

I don't see how its crappy. I rather like the way you have the two of them, each initially hesitant, feel the rightness of them being together. (or at least that's what I take away from the story)

it's a great drabble. (though I would love to see a sequel or an expanded part - though if Mary thought Marshall was exasperating, can you imagine Mary meeting Crews? (maybe at the Marshall/Dani wedding?))

I love them as a pairing. I'm not even entirely sure how I came up with it, but it's just so right.
