Fan Mix - Goren + Eames
I've been sitting on this for a while - and now, I post it.
Celebrating the friendship/romance/partnership (whatever your poison) of Detectives Robert Goren and Alex Eames. It's a little wangsty, a little zany, a little sly, a little all over the place and a lot wistful; but for such a varied and interesting partnership, would you expect anything less?
Don't expect great insights, however. I just ain't that bird. To me, these songs just sound and feel like them - and I hope you enjoy them like I have. Download link after song information.

In my honest opinion? This is the Robert Goren song. Sums up everything.

You look harder and tired and colder
Is this what ten years with a dickhead can bring
Goren and his constant struggle with being a burden on Eames, their partnership and her life.

THE POLYPHONIC SPREE / Suitcase Calling
When the light comes today I'll show my face
It's the seasons that keep me hanging on
The struggle to show each other who they are. A theme for Season Six, as we move into more "personal" territories.

And I've managed somehow to survive
Goren + His Mum + Eames = this song.

It’s the loneliest number

Well, they're not exactly the happiest pairing on the box, are they? (Aimee Mann over Johnny Farnham/Three Dog Night et al for I believe this version is more them.)

Many times I've often prayed
In the darkness of my night
In the brightness of my day
This was actually the inspiration for my fic, "Double Distilled". There is something just..amazingly haunting and empty about this song, but so hopeful at the same time. And there's always time for a fic plug, no?

There is thing keeping everyone's lungs and lips locked
It is called fear and it's seeing a great renaissance
Their world - one of crime, violence, murder, blood - and how one small thing can have such an impact it's scary.

To your mouthful of nails
Shining lke the afternoon
You may think on first listen that this song is so inappropriate, it's not funny. But! Hyperactive, intelligent, busy, melodic, layered, brilliant - that's Goren and Eames, and that's this song.
