I think QT had enough confidence in Daniel's performance that he preferred to have him communicate everything on a more subtle level, such as through his hands and facial expressions (and his hair). By truly paying attention to him (without the LOL NAZI goggles), we see the damaged, sensitive individual that he is, so I suppose QT felt it wasn't necessary to include backstory on Fredrick to humanize him, as Daniel was fully capable of doing so without having to say so. BASICALLY, QT ♥ FREDRICK FOREVER AND EVER. BUT YES I WANT HIM TO TALK AT ME ABOUT ALL OF IT. IF I HAVE TO GO SHOELESS, I WILL. I'm going to write to him actually, about Sho/Fred, Steven Shorter, and everything else.

I doubt the prequel will get made and Helga is there in the script and in QT's mind since he thinks up intricate backgrounds for all of his characters, so no worries. But she's getting a shout-out in my letter.
