This was hard, because I actually had more to say than one hundred and fifty words. I might come back and visit this one, me thinks, and give it the proper treatment.

She's telling him to wait in the room for her as she finishes in the bathroom. Her voice wavers, a little, and his throat is dry, but they've come so far that he can't help but think it was only ever going to end here.

"Why don't you wear pink?"
"What?"
"Pink. The colour." Pause. "You'd look good in pink, like a baby pink."
"Crews."
"it would set off your eyes. Maybe we should go get a pink shirt."
"Crews."
"Why don't you wear pink, Reese?"
"Why don't you wear pink?"
"Red hair."
"Oh."
"Clashes."
"I got that."

He doesn't want to smile, because the whole thing is serious and life-affirming and - yes - Zen. But when she walks out, her only clothing a smile and matching underwear the colour of cotton candy, you couldn't have kept the smile of his face for fifty million dollars.
